Internationalism Week October 27 -31, 2014
This week, we celebrated Internationalism week to enhance the experiential learning for our students. These activities add a moment into our student’s fun memory of childhood and our community building closer relationships . The fun memory, according to studies, help our children to be mentally and emotionally healthy. Students gained a great insight into the country they represented. KG A represented 'India', KG B, 'Australia' and KG C, 'Mexico'. They learnt about the countries landscapes, wildlife, the flag colours and of course their food and culture. Thank you for your support and co-operation in sending the students dressed in theme clothes on Tuesday. Thank you to our parent volunteers, Ms. Lee Grewal and Ms. Simone Armstrong for sending delicious and yummy Australian food which the students enjoyed. Ms Grewal read the students a Australian story and Ms. Armstrong sang a beautiful Aboriginal song and the Australian national anthem which was an enriching and a great learning opportunity about the culture of Australia. A special mention to Henry's grandfather, Mr. Lonnie Lee an Australian Rock and Roll performer with 8 number 1 hits! He came to our school and sang for our Kindergarten students. The students loved the songs and enjoyed the performance. Mr. Lee got souvenir ‘Koala bear’ key chains for all the students in class. - A big thank you from all the students ! The week culminated with Halloween Celebrations. All students were dressed in their spookiest costumes, ready to scare us all! Students enjoyed the celebrations in class, with show and tell, making Halloween decorations in class and participating in a costume parade in school. |
